Claire Knowles has been riding since she was a young girl and started competing in dressage when her pony made it very obvious that she did not like jumping. It turned out that both Claire and her pony, Calypso, had a natural talent and ability for dressage.
Since those early days, Claire has competed up to Prix St Georges level and has ridden at the National Championships, the Winter National Championships, the Hickstead Dressage Masters League Finals and many Regional Championships.
Claire is now particularly well known for her dressage successes on her three Knabstruppers, Stavsdals Jackpot, Rughavens Sheik and Rughavens Jackpot, all of whom she has trained and brought through the levels herself.
After successfully gaining her BSc Hons in Equine Science, Claire worked for an international dressage rider where she had the opportunity to ride a wide variety of horses. Claire moved onto running her own yard and working as a freelance trainer before settling in her current premises in 2007 and setting up Jackpots Stud.
